Jakarta –
Planned conversion of 3 kg LPG cylinders into electric stove 1,000 watts drew criticism. This is considered a new problem.
The reason is that currently those who use 3 kg of LPG are people who come from the poor. Then this 1,000 watt electric heater will be difficult to use for people who use 450 watts, 900 watts and 1,200 watts of electricity.
The government said the policy has been tested by the PLN in several areas. The interim general manager of electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dadan Kusdiana, revealed this in trials in three cities.

“It is currently still being tested in 3 cities, the community response is still being studied, as are the technical aspects of the induction cooker,” he told detikcom on Saturday (9/17/2022).
He revealed that this test process will also see the right stove capacity. So that people feel more comfortable in the kitchen.
Dadan also explained that currently being tested is a 2-burner electric stove with a capacity of 1000 watts. “This test was conducted by PLN, so a special network was created in the house for the stoves,” she explained.
Already reported in July 2022, PLN president and director Darmawan Prasodjo said the stove conversion program was conducted by PLN as an attempt to reduce the state burden on LPG imports, which is increasing every year. In addition, he continued, so far, in particular the 3 kilogram LPG, are subsidized goods that are still sold freely so that they are not in line with the target and become a burden on the state budget.
“By converting this stove, we can immediately solve three problems at once. By reducing the dependence on imports of LPG with household energy, especially electricity, and also reducing the burden on the state budget that subsidizes LPG,” he said. Darmawan.
