Chelsea boss Graham Potter faces former Brighton club in closed-door friendly as Chukwuemeka scores the two goals in a 2-1 win

On Saturday, CHELSEA boss Graham Potter faced his former club Brighton in a closed-door friendly.

On Sunday the Blues were supposed to face Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

But the match was postponed due to lack of police resources following The Queen’s death.

Brighton’s clash with Crystal Palace has also been suspended.

And both Premier League teams were eager to tackle the international break with some form of action.

So they got together to play a friendly match without spectators.

They arrive just eight days after Potter officially left Brighton to replace Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

And his new club won the match when Carney Chukwuemeka scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

Chukwuemeka, 19, has not yet played for West London so far this season.

This summer he joined Aston Villa on a six-year contract.

None of the Chelsea players who started the 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg on Wednesday played in a friendly.

And the team will now disperse as they fly around the world for matches with their national teams.

Potter’s first Premier League match in office will be Saturday, October 1st, when he travels to Crystal Palace.

The Blues will then face Milan twice in six days, both sides of the home game against Wolves.
