Abidjan – The NGO Save to serve the Lord organized, on Friday 16 September 2022, in Abidjan, the 13th edition of the distribution ceremony of its school kit called Philadelphia, during which 1,336 students of the Preparatory Course for Terminal received them.
These kits consisted of textbooks including notebooks, books and pumpkins to lighten the burden of the parents of the beneficiaries who, for the most part, are orphans, children of servants of God or from vulnerable Abidjan families, but also localities in the interior. of the country such as Akoupé, Bouaké, Divo, Soubré, Tabou, Aboisso, Dabou, Toumodi, etc.
According to NGO Vice President Henriette Assanvo, beyond providing school supplies, it is a way for the organization to encourage partner communities to preach the word of eternal salvation to people who are still deaf or unwilling to give their lives. to Jesus Christ.
“Philadelphia is one of our flagship businesses and a conduit for large-scale evangelism. Through this distribution of kits, it is an appeal that we launch to the beneficiary communities to help us in evangelization. Let them use this platform to win the hearts of those who oppose the gospel. But our main target is mainly the orphans, ”explained Ms Assanvo.
During the inaugural edition of Philadelphia in 2008, the number of beneficiaries was 35 students. Today the ceremony has acquired notoriety to the point of exceeding the threshold of a thousand. Even if the leaders of the NGO continue to assist families, everything indicates that financial needs are being felt and therefore any gesture of good will is welcome.
“I appeal to people who want to bring relief to families, who want to help children become someone. We need them to give hope to orphans and the destitute so that they become leaders in society tomorrow, ”she said.
Coming to accompany the children of the Mission for Christian Revival (MIRE), her congregation, Reine Douho, expressed her satisfaction and expressed her gratitude to the NGO Save for serving the Lord, praying that God bless her work to perpetuate the ceremony for the distribution of vulnerable diapers to children.
“All my children have received kits. We are really happy. May God continue to empower the NGO so that it can always help Christian children in need, ”she said.
The NGO was brought to the baptismal font in 2008 by the will of Assanvo Mian and his wife Henriette to come to the aid of orphans to enable them to be successful in their studies, integrate into society and be the luminaries of the world. , We learned.
