Nebraska beyond Oklahoma (+10.5)
The Cornhuskers and incredibly loyal fans who have sold out at Memorial Stadium at every game since 1962 will clearly freak out after the firing of manager Scott Frost. Can a public university justify not waiting two weeks to cut the Frost acquisition by $ 7.5 million (see you next week!)?
Californian (+10.5) Notre Dame
Don’t expect Marcus Freeman to lose his first four games as Fighting Irish manager.
Mississippi (-16.5) Georgia Tech
It doesn’t matter who Lane Kiffin is. The 120th Yellow Jackets attack is not ready to match the second fastest attack in the world.
Penn State (-3) via AUBURN
Jordan Hare Stadium did little to help the Tigers overcome the state of San Jose. That won’t upset Nittany Lions senior quarterback Sean Clifford, who had 280 yards and two touchdowns against Auburn last year.
Alabama (-49) Louisiana-Monroe
Crimson Tide’s 55-0 defeat to Utah in the first week is a foretaste of what will happen after last week’s turmoil in Texas. Alabama have over 47 points in their last two games.

Toledo, Ohio (+32)
The best teams in MAC deserve more respect. A 3-point loss at Notre Dame last year showed the Rockets’ potential.
Texas Tech University (+10) in North Carolina
Reserve quarterback Donovan Smith is set for the next shootout after leading the Red Raiders to a double overtime win over Houston.
Washington (-3.5) Michigan
Peyton Thorne’s selling problems won’t improve in his toughest test of the year. Unless Kenneth Walker III saves him. I bet the broadcast team will call this win from an unranked favorite against the 11th ranked team in the “upset” nation.
Miami (+5.5) outperformed Texas A&M
I’d like to see Haynes King play well at least once before recommending the perpetually overrated Aggies. It should be easy. No pressure, boy.
San Diego (+21) via UTAH
The Aztecs won’t repeat last year’s three overtime against Ute, but Brady Hawk’s defense, the best at Mountain West last season, remains strong enough to keep damage at bay.
Fresno (+12) via USC
Just like Lincoln Riley did when he was in Oklahoma, any team west of Mississippi will struggle to keep up with his Trojan offensive. But the USC defense, which relies on Alex Grinch turnovers, cannot take advantage of potential NFL client Jake Haner, who has been intercepted in one of his last nine games.
Best offer: Toledo, San Diego, Fresno
