Korea’s Meteorological Administration issued a heatwave warning for the plains of Wonju, Chuncheon and Hongcheon-gun from 11am on the 17th.
A heatwave warning is issued when the maximum sensible temperature of 33 degrees or more continues for more than two days or when severe heat damage is expected.
A typhoon warning is in effect for Yangyang-gun, Sokcho, Samcheok, Donghae and Gangneung-si apartments.
