Comcast RISE awards 14 Oregon / SW Washington small businesses with technology updates and marketing resources

Comcast Business announced today that another 14 women-owned and black-owned small businesses in Oregon, SW Washington have acquired a Comcast RISE Award. The awards allow these companies to receive technology upgrades tailored to their specific needs from Comcast Business or consulting, media and creative production services from Effectv, Comcast Cable’s advertising distribution division. More than 50 small businesses in Oregon / SW Washington have received Comcast RISE awards.

Comcast RISE, which stands for Representation, Investment, Strength and Empowerment, is a multi-year initiative launched in 2020 to support small businesses owned by women and … people of color who have been severely affected by COVID-19. The application deadline for the next round of awards is October 16, 2022. Apply at www.ComcastRISE.com.

“Receiving this Comcast RISE award is a great help to me,” said Natasha Busse, owner of Dogville Playcare, a two-site dog daycare in southwest Portland. The buses will receive a technology upgrade and looks forward to new computers and tablets as well as other Comcast business services. Without technology, you can’t track nearly 100 dogs a day to collect information like vaccinations, and of course, I use the Internet to allow my clients’ people to book to play with us.

Busse explains that while the dog daycare market grew during the pandemic as many people adopted pets, keeping their own staff was a challenge. I had to change my growth strategy in order to compete on employee salaries.

* Marketing Services Grant: The following services provided by Effectv, Comcast Cable’s advertising sales division and its creative agency Mnemonic are designed to assist recipients with their marketing and media campaigns, including:

* Media: A linear TV media campaign lasting 90 days.

* Creative Production: Turnkey: 30 TV commercials, media strategy consultancy and 90 day media placement plan.

* Consulting: Ureeka digital audits in the form of website repair reports and SEO keyword reports on website targeted mechanisms and effective organic marketing.

* Technology Renewal Grants: Comcast Business’ state-of-the-art technology and equipment upgrade includes computer equipment, Internet, voice and cybersecurity services for up to 12 months. (Taxes and other fees may still apply for tech remodeling services.
