The amount of the lawsuit was donated to the making of the film “The Dark Blue Gospel”

The creative team of the film “Criminal Excellence Foundation” has started work on their next film – “Dark blue gospel“, for which a crowdfunding campaign has been underway since the beginning of August. As in the case of KEF, a considerable amount of crowdfunding has also been attracted by the national cinema project – 16,000 euros, and the amount continues to grow, the filmmakers told the “Delfi” portal.

“The team is grateful to everyone and everyone who contributed to the funding of the project, but even more to those who supported with honestly earned money (or not), than with a good word, ‘Like’ or ‘Share ‘, “wrote the film crew. representative Sergej Timonin. In total, the film project was supported by 286 people, whose contributions ranged from € 5 to over € 1000.

As previously announced, the filmmakers offered various benefits in exchange for the donation: both souvenirs related to the film and other things, and the opportunity to be filmed in the film. According to Timonins, the tickets for the premiere have attracted the greatest interest from supporters, because “we Latvians are practical people and we understand that when the film comes out, inflation will ensure that the cinema ticket will cost exactly the same, but this can be sold at a profit “ss. com “or on some other website (eg Facebook group” I give it free in Riga “).”

On the other hand, the hats, caps and “caps” of the official project, chosen by a single supporter, attracted the least interest of supporters.

It should be noted separately the interest of supporters in the position “Role in the film” – the most expensive of the so-called “standard” positions (500 euros). It was completely sold out on the first day of the campaign. “Because we know that Latvians are also a nation of actors. Or at least they really want to be like that …” says the representative of the film.

The campaign is not over yet and will end on Monday 19 September at 11:59 pm. The crowdfunding campaign and the opportunity to donate are available here.

It has already been reported that the main character of the film will be a young criminal police investigator, Roman Skulte, who starts working in Riga in the mid-1990s. “Skulte is full of enthusiasm and desire to change the world, cleaning it of crime, corruption and all the other bullshit that comes to mind. What happens to such a green work, which leaps into the real world with naive idealism? Pa muti dabon – wow, that’s happening! He soon realizes that idealism will not take him far, and to fight both with the criminal world and with his own station, which, as Skulte sees, is not always interested in security of honest citizens, will have to violate such and such rules and principles, all in the name of noble goals! And as the faith of our people wisely says: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions …” or, quoting this I saw on a local movie poster, “It was clear from the start that it was going to be shit!”, future movies plot is outlined by its creators.

The film’s premiere is scheduled for late 2023 or early 2024.

We remind you that the crime comedy “Criminal Excellence Foundation” was created by director Oskars Ruppenheit with private funds and crowdfunding. The film premiered in 2018, becoming a local box office success. At the “Lielais Kristaps” National Cinema Award ceremony, the film received two awards in the “Best Screenplay” and “Best Supporting Actor” categories, as well as the “Delphi” Readers’ Choice Award.
