It was a necessity to answer the medical desert hitting the city.
Following the complete disappearance of its practitioners, the city hall launched the project to create a medical center in 2018.
“If the operation had not been organized, there would be no doctors this year. Since 2021, only one doctor has been taking care of the Mérysien ”.
After four years of studying and working, it was last March that the job was finally delivered.
Today, thirteen healthcare workers welcome their patients in the 415 m2 building located in Chemin de Pontoise, behind La Luciole.
It took eight months to find the doctors.
“Four were recommended for the city, but we wanted a minimum of six for the 10,000 inhabitants. Two come from Pontoise, two more from Persan and two settle there. “
In addition to these generalists, there are seven paramedical professionals, including two osteopaths, a podiatrist, a sophrologist, two speech therapists and a nurse.
In addition, the construction of the health center has also made it possible to host two midwives who occupy the doctors’ offices released in the center of the town.
Financed by the Regional Health Authority, the Department and the Region, the health center welcomes many patients from the city but also from neighboring countries.
“Modernity and the number of doctors attract patients around the city, especially those who have few,” says the mayor. There is also a teleconsultation office. Allows you to renew a prescription by making an appointment in advance or on the same day. “
A healthcare ecosystem
“The premises are new and adapted. Rents are low, which makes them attractive. The doctors are very happy with the working conditions and the Mérysien are satisfied ”, explains the mayor.
An opinion confirmed by Karim Hamidi, general practitioner of the health center. He is the second to do it.
“Initially, we spent several months without fiber, which made our job complicated and boring. The problem is now solved. We have magnificent rooms with air conditioning, access for the disabled and ample parking at the Luciole show room available free of charge for the retirement home. Patients find the location convenient, a pharmacy is available nearby. “
Thanks to the appointment booking on the Doctolib platform, the doctor takes care of new patients.
Doctor since 1989, he also takes care of the former patient of Dr. Nathalie Peronnet-Salaun and will take that of Dr. Frédérique Holliez, who will retire at the end of the year.
