Ten praises EMU “as a stronghold to solve emergencies”
The mayor of León, José Antonio Diez, praised the Military Emergency Unit (UME) as “the first bulwark to solve these urgent problems”. So it was reported Wednesday after the meeting with the new lieutenant colonel chief of the 5th Battalion of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), Daniel Constantino Casado. The already replaced José Alberto Barja Navarro was also present at this meeting in the mayor’s office.

The commissioner thanked both for the work that the EMU “has always shown” with the city and province of León, and with other territories.
Furthermore, he highlighted his “ability to respond” with the aim of reaching where other administrations do not go “and he exemplified it with the fires of this summer.
Finally, he recalled that the EMU has received the Gold Medal from the City of León for his work since 2009.
