A house at Uden’s Noorderhof went completely on fire Thursday afternoon after an electric scooter shorted out under a carport. The house had just been renovated. In addition to the carport, the fire also completely destroyed several vehicles and a caravan.
Two neighboring houses and carports suffered extensive fire and smoke damage. Some firefighters were overheated by the fire.
The damage is inventoried
The damage is still being stocked on Thursday evening, firefighters said. The resident of the completely burnt house tells Omroep Brabant that he was charging his electric scooter when a short circuit suddenly occurred.
“The flames got bigger and bigger,” says the man. “Before I knew it, my house was on fire.”
‘big drama’
Mayor Paul Rüpp was on site to speak with the residents. Talk about a great drama. “Residents may not yet realize how great the suffering is.”
Some firefighters were overheated by the heat generated by the fire. They were checked in an ambulance.
