In the previous article,The moderator shared the evaluation of the iPhone 14 Pro series for everyone, introduced the mobile phone’s Dynamic Island design, Always On Display function, and shared the performance of the mobile phone with you. Some of them I just touched on and said that I will explain them in detail in another article, which is the camera part. Eventually, this time around, the iPhone 14 Pro series is replaced with a 48-megapixel lens. What about image quality? Let’s evaluate it again.
48 megapixel camera updated for the first time
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max also have three rear lenses, including a standard lens, an ultra wide angle lens, and a telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom. Among them, the standard lens has a wider focal length, from the previous 26mm equivalent lens to a 24mm lens, this upgrade can help capture more scenes that were previously not available with the iPhone main lens. Additionally, the standard lens features a new 48-megapixel lens, and while larger pixels don’t necessarily mean better quality, Apple divides the pixels into groups of four and combines them into larger pixels. The resulting image will be 12 million pixels, and the resulting photo will theoretically be brighter, with less noise and better detail.

▲ Judging by these test shots, the standard lens performs well. For a mobile phone, the image quality and details are quite good. The biggest improvement is that even in medium to low light, the color and texture are worth it. Like it.
48MP ProRAW effect
If you wish, you can also use the phone’s ProRaw settings to take 48 megapixel photos, but here I have to remind everyone that using ProRaw to take 48 megapixel photos, the file size is quite large and the original image size can reach 48 MB.
▲ Shoot with ProRAW 4800 pixels, then publish photos directly via the software.

The ultra wide angle lens is replaced with a new sensor
The ultra-wide-angle lens of the iPhone 14 Pro series features an all-new sensor with multiple focal pixels and a smaller F2.2 aperture lens, combined with Apple’s improved photo processing technology to help you take photos in anything but conditions. ideal environments for sharper ultra-wide-angle photos. However, compared to the photos and videos of the main lens, the photos and videos made by the ultra wide angle lens are still slightly lower and we hope to continue to improve in the future.
In terms of macro shots, the quality of the iPhone 14 Pro series has also been improved. When you approach the subject and take a photo with the main lens, the iPhone 14 Pro series will switch to the ultra-wide angle lens and crop the frame to imitate the main objective. This allows for closer focus, which is useful when photographing small objects up close. Last year’s iPhone 13 Pro series had a similar feature, but with a new ultra-wide angle lens, macro photos would have better image quality in medium and low light than the previous generation.

The zoom lens is not very up to date
In the zoom lens part, the iPhone 14 Pro series is basically the same as last year’s iPhone 13 Pro series, but the image quality has been improved thanks to the light and shadow engine of the iPhone 14 Pro series. ultra wide-angle lens, the iPhone 14 Pro series telephoto quality still lags behind the main lens, especially in darker environments.

▲ 3x optical zoom.
