RKI: seven-day incidence nationwide at 244.4
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) rated the seven-day incidence nationwide this morning at 244.4. The day before, the value of new corona infections per 100,000 population and week was 236.2, a week ago it was 223.1. German health authorities recently reported 46,514 new corona infections to RKI, there were 42,057 on Wednesday a week ago.
Note on current numbers: The incidence values do not provide a complete picture of the infectious situation. Experts assume a large number of cases not registered by RKI, mainly because not all infected people have performed a PCR test. However, only positive PCR tests are included in the official statistics. Furthermore, delayed recordings or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values. In general, the number of new infections recorded varies significantly from weekday to weekday, as many federal states do not report them to RKI, especially on weekends, and report their cases throughout the week.
