A member of the forestry department who was being treated died after being attacked by a wild cat in Thrissur’s Palapilli. Hussain, a native of Mukkam, Kozhikode, who came with the Kunkiana to chase away wild elephants, was injured a week ago. Hussain is the leader of the Dart gang that drugs animals including the wildebeest. Hussain is always at the forefront of the task forces charged with bringing wildlife to the country. There was a controversy when Hussain threw a knife at locals who protested when the tiger fell at Kurukanmula in Wayanad last December.
