Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) reported the number of suspected citizens monkeypox or monkeypox in Indonesia nine people as of 12 September 2022.

Syahril continued, the clinical symptoms experienced by the nine suspects were similar to the monkeypox symptoms that have occurred in several other countries. These include fever, rashes on the skin, the appearance of blisters on the hands and feet.

Syahril also assured that his party would continue to strengthen mitigation efforts such as Indonesian entry inspections.

The Director General for Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Ministry of Health, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, had previously said that the Ministry of Health would strengthen and increase surveillance activities for gay groups in Indonesia.

The surveillance will be carried out in collaboration with a number of parties such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Indonesia.

The mitigation effort was made due to reports from different countries, most of the people infected with monkeypox were gay men.
