Interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati affirmed his continuation of all efforts to form the new government, noting that “what is required in return is to keep up with all those interested in these efforts, and not continue to to set conditions and obstacles, in a clear attempt to achieve political gains that are neither premature nor possible. Accept it.
He said: “We all work together to resolve the government file in a way that helps establish greater political stability and avoid unnecessary debates, especially since the constitution is clear in all files and there is no place for ijtihad in the text.”
The Prime Minister’s position came during his patronage at today’s Grand Serail, the “National Action Plan for Youth Policy 2022-2024”, to develop and empower young men and women in Lebanon, at the invitation of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, in partnership with UNICEF and the United Nations Population Fund.
He added: “Our government continues to work diligently and persistently to address as many urgent and chronic problems as possible, in parallel with the completion of the key stages of an integrated recovery plan that we have initiated with the International Monetary Fund. And the general budget sessions, which will begin tomorrow in the Chamber of Deputies, represent a cornerstone of progress and solution, and we hope that they will be discussed in a spirit of positive collaboration among all, far from negative criticisms or overruns, because we do not have the luxury of time or debate in the light of this huge number of problems.
He added: “The main challenge we face is to stop the migratory flight that drains our young men and women, and first restore confidence in the homeland and its abilities, then address the collapsing factors that have significantly stopped the economic cycle in the country. “
He said: “No to despair and sadness. Not to encourage the bleeding of emigration or to despair our young people and encourage them to leave. Yes, to stay in Lebanon, no matter what the challenges, and with God’s permission, we will cooperate with each other to overcome the difficulties and put the country back on the path of economic and financial recovery.
