Dominated for the second time this season on Saturday in Saint-Étienne, David Guion’s men lost their leadership position this weekend. If it is not the time of the crisis, however, a player has been identified since the beginning of the season, the Brazilian Fransergio.
The Ligue 2 season had started very well for the Girondins de Bordeaux, but still. Undefeated after 4 days, David Guion’s men also hadn’t conceded a goal before suffering their first setback against Guingamp (0-1). If Bordeaux had recovered well, with a success 4-0 against Quevilly-Rouen Métropole, then another 1-3 on the Paris FC lawnthe club suffered their second defeat of the season this Saturday. Defeat in Saint-Étienne 2-0, the Girondins lost their leading position to Sochaux. But with 14 points in 8 games, just 2 points behind, nothing to worry about.
But one player in particular has been heavily criticized for his performance at Bordeaux since the start of the season: The Brazilian midfielder Fransergio. Author of a complicated performance against the Greens, his starting position is a misunderstanding for many.
From waste to pass
The dean of the very young Bordeaux team, 31 years old, in fact, he had a far from perfect match to Geoffroy-Guichard. Only 69% successful passes (33/48), only one successful through ball out of 7, one foul and 15 balls lost, Fransergio did not bring much to the game of the Girondins. Worse still, when he played the whole 7 games of Ligue 2, his statistics are not up to expectations.
Given the center of Bordeaux it was inevitable: Sainté would have enjoyed himself, Fransergio is a mystery and he has been so since the beginning of the League 2 season.
Still so bad physically, in his choices …– Hanif Ben Berkane (@HanifBerkane) September 10, 2022

If it shows an average of In 81% of successful passes, those on the opponent’s court are complicated despite the domination of their own (68%), as are long passes (41%). As for duels, he wins less than one out of two (43%), of which only 40% on land. While it loses on average more than 10 balls per game (for about fifty touches), is also guilty of more than one foul per game. The anger and misunderstanding of some therefore seem legitimate, it remains to be seen now whether David Guion will contain him on the bench during the next match, next Saturday (15:00) against Dijon.
