CHICAGO (AP) – Thairo Estrada scored in seventh place, Wilmer Flores in eighth and on Sunday the San Francisco Giants beat the Chicago Cubs 4-2.
The Giants kept the visiting offense at bay and used six pitchers on a day of bullpen, though Zach McKinstry had four hits for the Cubs, who lost 15 out of 21.
Estrada, Evan Longoria and Austin Dean each had two wins for the Giants, who lost five out of six.
Flores scored a two-point homer over Hayden Wesneski (1-1) after Lewis Brinson scored his 18th homer of the season, a career record that broke a losing streak for the player.
Estrada led the episode in the seventh with his 13th homer of the season.
Zack Littell (3-3) took the 1 2/3 innings win to get the win. Camilo Doval signed his 22nd save with 1 1/3 inning without a goal, despite him hitting a hitter and conceding a triple in the ninth.
For the Giants, Venezuelans Wilmer Flores 4-1 with a point scored and two RBI; Thairo Estrada 4-2 with one point scored and two RBI. Mexican Luis González 4-0.
For the Cubs the Venezuelan Rafael Ortega 4-2 with an RBI. Dominican Franmil Reyes 4-1.
