LG is well on its way to updating its range of games this fall and the 48GQ900 OLED gaming screen is among the products now out. It was introduced earlier this spring, but is now ready for Nordic market launch. Unlike the new OLED Flex, this is a flat version that cannot be curved – in return it will probably be priced a little nicer!

OLED screen for gaming
The 48GQ900 has a lot in common with traditional LG TV screens and uses a 48-inch OLED panel with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160). At the same time, it has received a number of game-specific changes that should make it particularly suitable for both console and PC gamers.
Including function Synchronization of dynamic actions which reduces input lag, as well as various picture modes with, among other things, FPS counters and a viewfinder that gives users a means to aim in games that don’t offer it. Adaptive PC sync is handled by AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync. For game consoles, the picture is synchronized via HDMI VRR.
The OLED screen boasts a very low 1 millisecond response time (GTG) and features a noticeably duller anti-glare filter than the TV version. The refresh rate is 120Hz, or a maximum of 138Hz with overclocking. With a color depth of 10 bits per pixel, the screen displays 1.07 billion colors and covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space.
– LG is the largest in the world in terms of OLEDs and the demand for larger screens is on the rise. We want to introduce a large gaming screen with all the benefits of OLED technology, with a very fast response time and high contrast. The UltraGear 48GQ900 enhances all kinds of gaming experiences for those who love larger screens, not only thanks to LG’s technology, but also thanks to AMD FreeSync and G-Sync support, says Christian Emmertz, IT product specialist at LG Nordic.
As for sound, the UltraGear 48GQ900 can be equipped with stereo speakers and 2 x 20 watt output power, as well as a microphone and headphone output that supports DTS Headphone: X. Those who wish to use an external audio system can connect it with the optical SPDIF output.
