Box office Day 1: Kompromat is on the run

Jérôme Salle’s thriller aims high in front See Paris again et The visitor of the future, in a very French novelty market but without a sensational start.

Kompromat wins first place with authority, with an accumulation of previews to 37,000 admissions. On similar films, this departure follows in the footsteps of Goliathreleased in March on as many sessions, and slightly less than Black box (43,000 tickets with AP for 1,730 screenings), released simultaneously in 2021. On the other hand, it is more timid than most of the beginnings of previous Jérôme Salle films, such as Largo winch (65,000 tickets) or Antonio Zimmer (55,000 spectators).

Second, the cathartic See Paris again it offers an average of 19 spectators per screening, the best average of the ranking. Passed by the last Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, the drama allows Alice Winocour to sign her best start in front of Next, Augustine et Maryland.

The visitor of the future completes the podium with an accumulation inflated by a good round of previews (25,000 appearances in three weeks). Adapted from the successful web-series of the same name, the film by François Descraques, however, has an average of 10 and will have to increase his nascent word of mouth.
