Even before stepping into the new Mazda for the first time, the company was quick to inform us that this is the most luxurious model in their new range and its idea is to step in among European premium brands. The new Mazda CX-60 combines the famous 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder petrol engine, an electric motor and a 17.8 kWh battery. How this luxury SUV behaves, we tell you now.
Given the joint operation of an electric motor and an internal combustion engine, the power of the car’s system is 327 hp, which is transmitted to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. All of this makes it the most luxurious and most powerful Mazda ever made. This state-of-the-art powertrain also offers a choice of driving modes: normal, sport, off-road, tow and EV, the latter of which allows you to drive on electricity alone for 60 kilometers, which is more than the average commute.
In keeping with Mazda’s philosophy, the car has three main trim levels, Exclusive-Line, Homura and Takumi. And in general, the CX-60 expands Mazda’s SUV range, building on the increasingly popular Mazda CX-5 in our country and in Europe.
Mazda’s first PHEV also impresses with exceptional environmental qualities with a combined WLTP fuel consumption of 1.25 liters per 100,000 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, which in real conditions is of course not quite the case, but nevertheless the large SUV has turned out to be quite cheap. The average consumption reported by the on-board computer after our test was 4.2 liters per 100. The combined drive allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 200 km / h .

The Mazda CX-60 Exclusive-Line can be combined with the three option packages to offer customers maximum choice and complement the extensive standard equipment of the CX-60. The Homura is visually distinguished from the Exclusive-Line by the body-colored moldings on the fender arches and a dark finish on the radiator grille, in addition to the mirrors in high-gloss black and the treatment of the honeycomb grille, while the 20-inch black alloy wheels complement the stunning exterior species.
At the top of the new Mazda CX-60 is the Takumi trim level, which features 20-inch black alloy wheels and body-colored mirrors combined with a chrome grille. In general, the design of the radiator grille is different and unique for this modification.

The Mazda CX-60 shares the same carefully thought-out cabin design found in all Mazda vehicles, with a driver-centric symmetrical layout to deliver Mazda’s unique feeling of being at one with the car. Being the largest vehicle, the CX-60 offers a 570-liter trunk and generous space for five people.
The design uses strong body stiffness and a double wishbone front suspension configuration with a multi-link rear suspension to deliver the sporty driving experience synonymous with many of the brand’s models. Placing the battery between the front and rear axles and as low as possible on the floor further helps the center of gravity and stability of the CX-60. The ride is smooth, but despite the claims of the engineers, the roll in the corners is felt.

As already mentioned, the powertrain is paired with an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission and the i-Activ all-wheel drive system. as the ride and transmission is tuned for a smooth ride. The gear shift is hardly noticeable, the car is pleasant for both long distances and city driving, but it is definitely not designed for dynamic driving. That is, it will appeal to those drivers who prefer comfort to dynamics.
The comfortable experience aboard the CX-60 is complemented by several new technologies that debut in the model: See-Through View – a next-generation 360-degree monitor with an extended field of view at low speeds; Hill Descent Control (HDC), which helps you to safely descend steep slopes with slippery or uneven road surfaces; and adaptive cruise control (i-ACC), which now includes speed limits from the traffic sign recognition system. They all work very well and are part of the sought after effect of a true premium car.

If we have to summarize, we will say that the most luxurious and powerful Mazda heralds the beginning of a new chapter for the brand, not only is it the first car with plug-in hybrid drive, but also sets new standards for interior quality, design and technology. – underlining the research of the Japanese brand in the premium segment.
The all-new Mazda CX-60 is the first of two new models from the company to be introduced across Europe in the near future, the second being the three-row Mazda CX-80. In addition, the 2.5-liter e-Skyactiv PHEV powertrain from the CX-60 range will be joined at a later stage by two new Mazda engines that have been developed using the ‘right sizing’ concept, which requires optimized displacement to improve engine performance. fuel and energy efficiency.

The all-new Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV heralds a new chapter in Mazda’s SUV history and joins the electric Mazda MX-30, Mazda M Hybrid CX-30 and recently updated Mazda CX-5 2022 in the full range of SUV of the brand.
