Culiacan, Sin. – Have you been promised a loan or credit card without taking into account your history? Have they told you that they are going to lower the moon, the sun and the stars without many requirements? Watch out! You could be the victim of a scam.
Yessika Mariana Cebreros Millán, credit specialist at the Faculty of International Studies and Public Policy of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) It is recommended to remain alert to offers of quick credits, since they can be fraud or even lenders who go so far as to apply threatening systems to collect the debts that are contracted.
He warned that before making any commitment with companies or lenders, citizens should consult the Service Provider Registration System (SIPRES) and the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (Condusef) to find out if these actually represent duly accredited institutions.
“Taking advantage of the debt situation, they offer them very easy credits, without requirements, they even ask them for a percentage of 5 to 10 percent of the value of the credit and that with that they will already be entitled to that credit and what happens? it may be that they do grant it, but under what conditions, even once that credit has been received, do they charge even in a threatening way, others are outright fraud”, he stressed
The UAS credit and academic specialist mentioned that it is very important that people do not give personal data to anyone since addresses, telephone numbers, place where they work and emails can later be used by fraudsters who are dedicated to stealing identities.
He said that even when dealing with institutions duly registered with SIPRES and Condusef, it is very important that citizens compare which are the banks and institutions that charge less interest.
He recalled that now that people are very worn out and the return to school is coming, they are receiving constant calls or messages to cell phones in which fast credits are offered and without great requirements to obtain them.
Cebreros Millán indicated that the current times are when one must err on the side of caution so as not to fall into the hands of lenders who are usurers and who take advantage of people’s needs.
“You have to read the contracts in detail and check that they are legally registered institutions, including reviewing the official pages that exist on the internet before making any decision,” he said.
