Brynäs prestige recruits: Larsson back from the NHL

He has won with Brynäs. Johan Larsson was involved in saving the classic ice hockey team’s last SM gold ten years ago.

After that, the center packed his bag and flew over to North America to play in the NHL. But now, ten years and almost 500 NHL games later, he is back in Gävle and Brynäs.

“I have only good memories from the time I was here last and now return with a big smile. We have put together a strong team and I really believe we can go far,” says Larsson.

Larsson has signed a contract that extends over the 2024/2025 season.

“Larsson needs no further introduction to the Brynäs fans. A real winner’s skull, which is not least shown in the SM gold he won with Brynäs J18, J20 and in the SHL. Or, for that matter, the WC gold with the Småkronorna and Tre Kronor,” says Brynäs sports director Johan Alcén.

During his NHL career, Larsson represented Arizona, Washington, Buffalo and Minnesota. Last season there were 21 points in 43 games.
