elite series, Football | Bodø/Glimt has had a large bid accepted

Bodø/Glimt have come to an agreement with the Danish AGF to buy free Albert Grønbæk (21).

The big bid has been accepted by the Danish club, Nettavisen is informed. Grønbæk must also agree with the yellow jerseys about his own details in an agreement, and travel to Bodø for a medical check-up before the transfer can be completed.

It was Danish B.T. who first announced the trade on Friday morning.

The transfer fee Glimt is claimed to pay for the midfielder is, according to the same newspaper, the highest they have ever paid to bring a player to the club.

Earlier this summer, Bodø/Glimt is said to have had a bid of over NOK 13 million turned down for the same player from the AGF team. A couple of months later, the Eliteserien’s title defenders are said to have returned with a new offer and received approval from the Århus club.

Grønbæk is a useful midfielder, who in AGF has been used both centrally in the pitch and on both flanks. Since last spring, the 21-year-old has played six times for Denmark’s U21 national team, all as substitutes.

The Norwegians relatively recently brought forward Lars Jørgen Salvesen from Strømsgodset, but have also sold Victor Boniface to Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgian football during the summer.

Glimt will play in two decisive matches against Dinamo Zagreb in the playoff round of the Champions League qualification. The winning pot includes solid sums of money, and a place in the group stage of Europe’s most lucrative club tournament.
