The family says actress Anne Heche is unlikely to survive

The police are investigating the accident. Heche was alone in the car when she drove into an apartment building in Los Angeles last Friday. Heche has been hospitalized since and is in a coma.

Her family states in a statement that her life is probably not worth saving.

– We would like to thank you for all the good thoughts and prayers for Anne, and thank the staff and the wonderful nurses who have looked after Anne. Unfortunately, she suffered a serious brain injury and is still in a coma, critically injured. It is not expected that she will survive, says the statement from the family.

According to the statement, Heche is being kept artificially alive pending investigations into whether her organs can be donated. The police are investigating whether Heche was driving under the influence of drugs when the accident occurred.

Heche was one of the best-known film stars of the late 1990s and played, among other things, in “Donnie Brasco” and “Six days, seven nights”. She received an Emmy for her role in the soap opera Another World.
