JawaPos.com – A 61-year-old elderly woman in Cilegon, Banten, was labeled a monkeypox suspect. That’s because he experienced symptoms of a rash on his body.
The Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, revealed that the patient in Cilegon was a 61-year-old woman. Symptoms experienced by patients are rashes, especially on the body.
In addition to the symptoms of a rash, the patient also has a fever. Patient samples were taken from both the ossopharyngeal sample and the lesion (wound) by PCR.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Mohammad Syahril, confirmed the news. However, the latest news, he said, the results were negative.
“The news is true, a suspected monkeypox case,” said Syahril to JawaPos.com, Thursday (11/8).
However, Syahril confirmed that this afternoon the results of the PCR examination were out. And the result is negative.
“The PCR results have come out negative. PCR was taken from the sample of the smallpox lesion (wound),” explained Syahril.
Thus, the patient is currently in the discarded (removed) from suspected monkeypox. So far, there have been 19 cases discarded monkey pox.
