While some emergency services are forced to close their doors punctually this summer or, as in Haguenau, to filter their access, that of Sélestat continues to operate normally despite the uncertainties expressed in June, in particular around the weekend of August 15th. “The schedule is provided for the whole summer,” rejoices Franck Tendron, deputy director of the Sélestat-Obernai Hospital Group (GHSO).
The service was very busy in July, with around 100 visits per day. Since the beginning of August, the number of admissions has been down slightly, offering staff a relative lull in a context of high pressure on staff. “We have many absences, which are currently compensated,” says Franck Tendron. Eight of them are linked to Covid. “It’s still manageable. We had 42 Covid-related absences in July and 16 so far since August. »
As for hospitalizations, after a peak of 32 around July 20, the trend is downward, with 20 patients hospitalized on Thursday: 19 in Sélestat, including one in a critical care unit, one at the intercommunal hospital of Val d’ Silver (Hiva) in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.
