Ozzy Osbourne back on stage for the first time since major surgery

The British singer resorted to major surgery in mid-June. He has suffered for several years from many health problems, including neck pain.

Ozzy Osbourne is back on stage. On Monday, the rocker performed for the first time since his operation in June, at the closing night of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

The 73-year-old artist took advantage of this event to invite his sidekick, Tony Iommi, guitarist of Black Sabbath, with whom he covered one of the group’s greatest hits, Paranoid.

“Ozzy is doing well”

In mid-June, the rocker’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, had unveiled on the British show The Talk that her husband was going to undergo a “very important operation” which would be “decisive for the rest of his life”.

The latter had subsequently reassured the fans of the artist on Twitter by ensuring that Ozzy Osbourne felt good and was recovering slowly from the operation.

“Our family would like to express their gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy’s surgery! Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means so much to him” , she wrote.

Quad accident in 2003

If the reason for this surgery has never been specified, the leader and singer of the group Black Sabbath has complained for several years of a number of health problems.

Shortly before his operation, Ozzy Osbourne told the magazine Classic Rock that he was still suffering from the repercussions of a quad crash in 2003 and that he was awaiting surgery. Suffering from Parkinson’s diseasethe rocker had also done in 2019 a bad fall at home resulting in the dislodgement of metal rods, placed in his spine following his quad accident.

In May, during his last public appearance to date, Ozzy Osbourne was spotted leaning on a cane to walk. The artist is due to resume his No More Tours 2 tour in 2023, with dates having been postponed multiple times due to his health and the pandemic.
