Colombia will be able to acquire vaccines against the disease

Last Monday, August 8, the National Institute of Health (INS) revealed the list with the number of cases confirmed by the monkeypox in the country.

According to INS In Colombia, 55 cases of monkeypox have been reported, of which 41 belong to Bogotá; 4 to Antioch; 2 in Tolima; 3 in Risaralda; 1 in Cartagena; 1 in Cundinamarca; 1 in La Guajira; 1 in Valle del Cauca and 1 in the department of Santander.

Likewise, the Institute indicated that to date 162 cases have been analyzed, of which 65 were discarded.

Given this, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), during a Directing Council of the Member States, supported the equitable access to the vaccine for populations in higher risk.
