A tailor-made start to the season and a classic win-win-win situation: After his goal at the start of the Bundesliga, SC returnee Matthias Ginter was able to personally receive a check for 5,200 euros for his foundation this week. “We want to help disadvantaged children and young people to find their way. The money helps us a lot,” says Matthias Ginter, citing three current examples: “Our projects include, for example, equipping an inclusive children’s library that is sensitive to discrimination or adventure days for children with and without disabilities, as well as supporting the Münstertal clinic in purchasing an urgent required therapy chair.” Many other plans are already in the pipeline.
The fundraising campaign is linked to a Sparkasse competition for a jersey from the DFB Cup final as a trophy. “We promote community in the region and are happy to be able to support the great work of Christina and Matthias Ginter with a donation,” explains Marcel Thimm, Chairman of the Sparkasse. “We also gained something with this campaign, namely around 1,000 new followers for our Instagram channel. In this way, we will be able to keep many more people up to date about our social commitment in the future.”
Florian Junkel from Eisenbach in the Black Forest is the lucky winner, he won an exclusive SC Freiburg jersey from the DFB Cup final with autographs from all SC players. The Sparkasse started an Instagram call in June, and 5 euros were donated to the Ginter Foundation for every comment or new follower. More than 1,000 new followers rounded up to 5,200 euros.
