Russian media claim that former president and prime minister Dmitry Medvedev has announced that current president Vladimir Putin has given permission for nuclear strikes in Ukraine, the DailyStar portal reports.
The deputy head of the Russian Security Council has warned that the West is trying to “destroy Russia”.
According to local media reports, Medvedev stated that the West’s goal is to destroy Russia.
“As in the case of Georgia, the Americans deliberately strengthen the sense of impunity in Kiev, give them weapons, encourage them to kill civilians in Donbas. And now they continue to cooperate with Ukraine, whose fate they are absolutely indifferent to. The goal is one – to destroy Russia,” said Medvedev.
A Russian opposition source said Putin has not ruled out “the possibility of using nuclear weapons in a war with Ukraine.”
One of the scenarios for the development of the conflict, when Putin could implement the use of tactical nuclear weapons, is being actively prepared.
