The Infrastructure Area of the Zaragoza City Council will intervene this week in some thirty streets of the Aragonese capital, nine districts and four rural neighborhoods, within the framework of the asphalt operation, taking advantage of the fact that these days the lowest traffic flow of the year is recorded. The works will focus especially on San José and Torrero.
In these points, the most far-reaching interventions in extension will be undertaken, such as the improvement of San José Avenue, Luis Aula Street or Cuarte Street, the Zaragoza Town Hall has reported.
This year’s operation has been planned to complement Operation Streets in some neighborhoods and thus improve the environment of roads that are being completely reformed. This is precisely the case of Cuarte street in Torrero, where more than 3,000 square meters of a section will be paved and several nearby roads will be adapted to achieve a comprehensive improvement of the area.

On San José Avenue, the bus lane will be cut from August 9 to 16, from Cesáreo Alierta to Tenor Fleta. The Pintor Marín Bagües street, between Hermano Jeremías and Joaquín Sorolla, will prohibit circulation from August 10 to 18, in the direction of Joaquín Sorolla street, maintaining circulation in the upward direction towards Plaza Canal Imperial. In the district of the sourcesYolanda de Bar street, from Francisco Rodrigo to Francisco de Quevedo, will be completely closed this Monday, August 8, in the same way as Francisco de Quevedo, from Cubel to Yolanda de Bar. The urban bus will be affected.
In La Almozar, Fray José Casanova street, between Navarra and Santa Orosia avenues, will be cut off and urban bus traffic will be diverted from August 8 to 12. Likewise, Adolfo Suárez street, in Olive Grove Sale, it will be cut on August 10 and 11; as well as the Plaza San Lorenzo, in Garrapinillos; and Las Escuelas street, in Villarrapa, from number 23 to Mayor street.
On the other hand, preliminary clean-up work will be carried out at various points of Oliver-Valdefierro, such as Vía Láctea street, next to Estrómboli street, from August 8 to 12; and Pedro Porter street, next to Pedro Ballesteros street.
So the road between number 35 and Pío Ballesteros will be cut, which will remain in the cul-de-sac to guarantee entry and exit to the garages. It will be necessary to divert the urban bus.
The Jeronimo Blancas Street will be closed to traffic, in the entire intersection with San Miguel street, from this Monday, August 8, until August 20, due to the comprehensive reform of San Miguel street, since the municipal company Ecocity starts these days the connection works of the new sanitation collector.
