Jointly organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, the Trade Promotion Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire, the he event aimed to introduce the Vietnamese market and strengthen connectivity between companies in the two countries.
According to Nguyên Phuc Nam, deputy head of the Asia-Africa Markets Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, Côte d’Ivoire is Vietnam’s second largest trading partner in Africa, after South Africa, and its fourth. reached this continent, after South Africa, Egypt and Ghana.
In 2021, bilateral trade reached nearly USD 1.26 billion, an increase of 38.7% compared to 2020, including USD 266.2 million of Vietnamese exports (+1.2%) .
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire will send a trade delegation to Vietnam next September to explore business and investment opportunities, said its president Faman Touré.
On this occasion, the participants discussed potential areas in trade cooperation between Vietnam and Cote d’Ivoire, such as cashew nuts, rice, and discussed the policies and regulations of the two countries in terms of export and import of goods.
