The second stage of the Guadeloupe 2022 cycling tour can be followed live on RCI and minute-by-minute on our website. On the program for this Saturday, August 6, a departure from Pointe-à-Pitre at noon to arrive at Petit-Canal. The 156 km course should be challenging for everyone given the weather forecasts which announce a tropical wave. The yellow alert was triggered yesterday which did not prevent the organizers from maintaining the event. The Guillaume Dauschy yellow jersey is eagerly awaited.

The top of the Salines crossed
The sloping and relatively long coast of the top of the Salines will have overcome some enthusiasm. The hill was crossed without incident but slowed down the less brave. The morphology of the peloton has not been the same since. Very grouped until then, the peloton is now spread out longer.

The race is progressing at a good pace. The sky is warmer than expected and the runners can ride dry. The aid station is open, it’s an opportunity to rehydrate and regain some strength to hold on until the finish. They have already swallowed 88 km.

The mid-race peloton
The distance between the two men in front and the rest of the peloton is considerably reduced because the riders in the back have redoubled their pedal strokes. They are approaching the Berlette roundabout at Morne-à-l’Eau, which is 77 km away, or two short kilometers before halfway through the race.
