Friday, August 5, shortly after 5 p.m., a tragic motorcycle accident took place at the level of the interchange 33 of the A87 motorway, at the level of the municipality Aubigny-Les Clouzeaux (Vendée), towards Angers (Maine-et-Loire). The rescue operations took place for more than two hours.
Traffic was blocked to allow a helicopter to land. The driver of the two-wheeler, a young man of 20, died during his transfer to the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Nantes, at the beginning of the evening.
Large blockages formed during the rescue operations. Traffic could not resume until 7:51 p.m. in the direction of Angers.
