“The approved childminder domiciled in L’Horme (Loire) was presented last weekend to an examining magistrate, who indicted her for willful violence resulting in death without intention of giving it, and remanded in custody,” said the deputy public prosecutor of Saint-Etienne, André Merle, confirming information from the regional daily Le Progrès.
On July 26, around 5:00 p.m., the suspect had alerted the father of the six-month-old girl, in a period of adaptation at home, of the deterioration of the baby’s state of health. Hospitalized, the latter died two days later in hospital. The child’s autopsy showed that he had succumbed to shaken baby syndrome.
