Ukraine is waiting for German IRIS-T air defense systems

The head of state was asked to consider the possibility of strengthening the air defense of the Kharkiv region. He instructed the military to study the issue.

President Volodymyr Zelensky considered a petition on the possibility of strengthening the air defense of Kharkov and the region, instructing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny to consider this issue.

He recalled that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the military-political leadership of the country and the defense forces have taken a number of measures aimed at strengthening the air defense system and repelling enemy air strikes.

“Given that the air defense of the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region is carried out in the general air defense system of Ukraine, I instructed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine V. Zaluzhny, who is responsible for its organization and leadership, to consider the issue raised in the electronic petition and inform about the results of the consideration its author,” the President’s response reads.
