President Radev sought security for himself in the appointments to the office. This was commented by the political scientist Assoc. Tatiana Burudzhieva in the program “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA News. According to her, the change of the heads of the NRA and customs is very key, because it is important how the revenues will go and whether this process will be able to be controlled by this government.
“In my view, their change is an assessment of the sectors and the ways in which the previous administration’s policies were developed in these two sectors. This clearly shows that the president does not trust the leaders of these two sectors – the way they worked before. It is also about two key sectors in terms of the work of the caretaker government itself. It is important how the revenues will go and whether this process will be able to be controlled by the caretaker government”.
“I have the feeling that the president sought security for himself after promoting different political figures in the previous two. Now he has bet – for the most part – on people who have been in official offices. Second, in this office, advisers to the president, who are part of his administration, are present in key positions. These are people who seem to have no problem getting back into their “own skin”, at least by looking at their biographies. I don’t see people who would look for some kind of development through the official cabinet”, commented Associate Professor Burudzhieva in response to a question about how she would define the official cabinet of President Rumen Radev.
She also commented on the BSP’s loss of confidence in the party members who were appointed as caretaker ministers. “A bigger blow to the BSP, in my opinion, is the appointment of Nikola Stoyanov, who Ninova fired from VMZ. Because the information that he already gives as information – directly attacks the image of the BSP leader himself. I wonder what the purpose of his appointment is, because Ninova has no problem with the leadership of his party”.
