They used Facebook to sell but assaulted people

Three young criminals were arrested in the last few hours after a series of raids carried out by the investigative police in the Triple Frontier area. In this case the measures were developed in the department of Maipu and the objective was to capture the suspects, who are accused of committing armed robberies when they summoned the victims to sell them products through Facebook. They seized the 50-inch television that had been stolen from a woman and that they had planned to offer it by their profiles to continue with the robberies under the same modality.

The investigation began some time ago when several complaints were filed in court for robberies that were committed in the Triple Frontier area. (boundary between the departments of Maipu, Godoy Cruz and Lujan). The robberies were committed under the same modality and with a point in contact between them: The victims had been approached after agreeing to a purchase through Maketplace, the Facebook sales site.

The criminals published products (cell phones, televisions or appliances) and were contacted by the interested parties, who were deceived and summoned them in the streets of the neighborhoods of those three departments. The thieves also contacted the victims to buy products and thus deceived them.

People, once they arrived at the site, were approached by these criminals who, with firearms, threatened them and stole all their belongings. That is, not only the product of interest that they sold through Facebook but also personal property.

This happened to a woman who was going to sell a 50-inch Samsung TV and was approached by the thieves in the vicinity of the settlement. Nestor Kirchner. The victim was with a friend when the robbery happened.

The thieves escaped and this modality was repeated more frequently. After receiving the complaints in the Fiscal Office No. 10 of Maipú, that assault on the woman motivated the investigations of the policemen of the Maipú Investigative Unit.

With data crossings, analysis of the victims’ statements, follow-up tasks and field work, the plainclothes officers were able to identify the gang dedicated to these robberies before they committed more robberies through the social network Facebook.

In this way, the police officers requested a series of raids (five in total) to the Robbery and Theft Fiscal Unit, whose judicial authorities accepted.

The policemen arrived at five addresses marked on block C from the Nestor Kirchner neighborhood (Located to the east of Juan B. Justo and Terrada streets). They entered the different homes and the results were positive. In the first instance because they arrested those targeted as perpetrators.

That is, they caught the brothers Cristian Aaron (19) and Alan Osvaldo Castillo (23) and an accomplice, Kevin Axel Joel Irazoque (23).

But also, in lot 33, the policemen found and kidnapped the 50-inch television that was stolen from the woman, a Reebok jacket, four cell phones of different brands, 30 marijuana plants and jars with cannabis buds.

Both the suspects and the elements remained at the disposal of Justice. For drug possession they opened a case in the Federal Court. Now they move forward to find out and determine if they also participated in more criminal acts in that area.
