Monday evening, two individuals stole a man’s vehicle in Villeurbanne. After trying to escape the police, they were arrested in Vaulx-en-Velin.
A man in his forties was the victim of the theft of his vehicle on Monday evening (10:40 p.m.) in Villeurbanne, near the Jonage canal. The forty-year-old quickly called the police, and a patrol crossed the path of the two suspects on rue Paul Marcellin in Vaulx-en-Velin.
The thugs tried to escape the police by multiplying the offenses (crossing a fixed red light, driving on the sidewalk, driving in the wrong direction). They were finally intercepted at 11:15 p.m. The driver, a native of Vaud in 2003 unfavorably known to the police, tested positive for cannabis. He admitted the charges. His sidekick, a Venissian born in 2002, was also placed in police custody, where he denied the theft.
The victim filed a complaint and the two individuals were presented to the Lyon prosecutor’s office on Wednesday for a judgment in immediate appearance.
