Roy Suryo reported the account he called the first to spread the Borobudur Temple stupa meme on June 16, 2022. There are three accounts that he said first spread the stupa meme.
Roy Suryo also ready to ask for witness protection to LPSK. However, the LPSK recommendation was rejected and the police named him a suspect.
“On July 20, 2022, the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has issued a recommendation for protection to me as a reporting witness, but it turns out that my status has been increased to become a suspect,” said Roy Suryo in a press statement, Thursday (4/8/2022).
Roy Suryo: Never Clarified Before
One day after Roy Suryo reported to Polda Metro, a Buddhist organization, Dharmapala Nusantara, reported Roy Suryo to Polda Metro but was rejected.
Only then 20 June 2022, reporters Kevin Wu and Kurniawan reported Roy Suryo. For these two reports, Roy Suryo admitted that he had never been clarified before.
“So these two reports are being processed at the Polda Metro Jaya until the status of the case is raised to investigation, without me having been clarified before,” he said.
