A delayed take-off to Egypt lost its slot and remained stationary on the runway. The cockpit became an oven and the travelers called 118
It’s hot on the street, it’s hot at home, in the office and in the car. And it must have been very hot even on that plane on which almost two hundred people were crammed waiting to leave in the confined spaces of economy flights, parked on the runway of Bergamo airport, in Orio al Serio. So much so that in the end it was the passengers themselves who called 118 and called in the ambulances. And yes, a certain amount of heat must have been budgeted for, because those who boarded the airline’s UJ931 flight yesterday Al Masria they were headed to Cairo where yesterday it was 39 degrees.

The problem was that the take-off was scheduled for 17, but passengers were able to start boarding the 193-seat Airbus A320-200 later than the scheduled time. This made you lose the slot on the fly, that is the time window in which the take-off was scheduled. And the aircraft, with its passengers, had to remain on the runway waiting for the new slot: the departure time was initially moved to 20.

But the long stay on the plane, under the sun and with the air conditioning not regulated at the temperatures it reaches during the flight, has begun to cause problems for several passengers: someone has had heat crisisother panic attacks. At 19.30, after the calls, two ambulances from the Red Cross of Bergamo and Urgnano. Six passengers with the greatest problems were treated on the spot, no one chose the hospitalization (and therefore the renunciation of the holiday). The flight was rescheduled for 10.15pm.
