Five regions are home to 72.6% of assets in Q2-2022

Five regions are home to 72.6% of all working people aged 15 and over in the second quarter of 2022 (Q2-2022), according to the Haut-Commissariat au Plan (HCP).

The Casablanca-Settat region comes in first position with 22.2% of assets, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (13.8%), Marrakech-Safi (13.3%), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (12%) and Fez-Meknes (11.3%), indicates the HCP which has just published an information note relating to the situation of the labor market in Q2-2022. Four regions record activity rates higher than the national average (45.2%). These are the regions of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (51.2%), Casablanca-Settat (47.5%), Marrakech-Safi (46.5%) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (45 .7%).

On the other hand, the lowest rates are recorded in the regions of Souss-Massa (39.9%), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (41.7%) and Fez-Meknes (42%). In addition, five regions account for almost seven out of ten unemployed people (71.1%) at the national level. The Casablanca-Settat region comes first with 25.5%, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (12.8%), Fès-Meknes (12.7%), Oriental (10.8%). ) and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (9.3%).

The highest unemployment rates are recorded in the southern (20.9%) and eastern (18.2%) regions. With less acuity, two other regions exceed the national average (11.2%), namely Casablanca-Settat (12.8%) and Fez-Meknes (12.5%). On the other hand, the regions of Marrakech-Safi, Beni Mellal-Khénifra and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma recorded the lowest rates, respectively 6.5%, 8.7% and 8.7%.
