Jakarta –
A total of 27 fighter aircraft belonging to China rumored to fly into the air defense zone Taiwan, Wednesday local time. The entry of dozens of Chinese warplanes came as US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made her controversial visit to the self-governing island that Beijing considers its territory.
“27 PLA planes… entered the surrounding area of (Republic of China) on August 3, 2022,” Taipei’s defense ministry said in a tweet.

As is known, Nancy Pelosi met with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei, Wednesday (03/08), after talking with senior members of parliament.

Along with six other US lawmakers, Pelosi arrived in Taiwan late Tuesday (02/08) on an unannounced but highly anticipated visit. Beijing also protested his visit.
“We want to cooperate and work in unity with all democracies around the world.”
Taiwan’s president stressed that Taipei “will not back down” in the face of “deliberately escalating military threats,” in a statement under pressure from China.
