The originally Rotterdam dish kapsalon – a powerful snack consisting of fries, meat, sauce, cheese and lettuce from the oven – has come over to Indonesia. The first diner in Jakarta that serves hair salon is a fact.

Indonesian Vicky Victorio Budiman lived in Rotterdam during his studies, where he became acquainted with the dish, the owner of the restaurant tells a reporter from Rhine estuary.

“Rotterdam has the best hair salons. We always ate it after going out and during the long study nights. When we returned to Indonesia after our studies we felt that we missed the hair salon. Now we have our own diner where we sell the hair salon. “

“Dutch comfort food”, appears on a billboard in front of eatery Smaklek. Although the restaurant mainly attracts expats and Dutch tourists, the dish has been adapted to the Indonesian taste. Gomes thinks it is “very special” that ‘his’ dish is now also available in Jakarta. “I did not expect this in Indonesia. The hair salon has been a good promotion for me. I get customers from all over the world who want to cut with me. They come to thank me especially and then go to a hair salon for dinner. It’s a dish of ours all.”
