Like other rogue-like games, death is still not completely hopeless. Namely, you can unlock permanent upgrades on the way, which persist from session to session. Otherwise, you have to pick up all the weapons and other equipment again.
Ubisoft otherwise promises a number of secrets to discover and more options, which should make each playthrough varied.
– Different areas in Nivlheim have new things to discover, such as a merchant who sells weapons, runes and traits for coins you pick up along the way, hidden bonuses that give permanent upgrades to Odin’s traits, provided you manage to defeat the strong enemies that protecting them, as well as computer-controlled characters with side missions that reward you with valuable equipment.
Players wishing to embark on the Forgotten Saga must first have built Everold’s Hut in Ravensthorpe, which is possible after you reach Åsgard in the main game. For more tips on the new mode, check out the video at the top of the article.
