The fate of the little boy has received enormous attention in England. He was found unconscious at his home in Southend, Essex, on 7 April.
His mother, Hollie Dance, suspects he was taking part in an internet “challenge” when he suffered the brain injury.
The 12-year-old never regained consciousness.
The doctors have considered it hopeless to get Archie back and therefore want to disconnect him from the ventilator, which the parents are against and have gone to court to stop.

– It is not correct
The doctors believe that it is very likely that he is brain dead.
– I have said that I would fight to the end for Archie and as his mother that is exactly what I have done, says Hollie Dance according to BBC .
Now the last hope is out for the parents, after Tuesday’s decision from the Supreme Court.
– I can’t take him home, I can’t do anything. It is not correct. Archie is my child. It should not be up to others to decide whether he will take his last breath, whether he will live or die. It is wrong, says Dance according to Sky News .
Both Sky News and the BBC report on Tuesday evening that he will be disconnected at 12 o’clock on Wednesday.
The doctors have pointed out in an earlier round of court that “all of Archie’s body functions are now being maintained artificially”.

Wants UN treatment
The parents, for their part, have asked the court for support that he should be given more time, so that the case can be dealt with at the UN.
The Hospital Trust, which treated Archie Battersbee, says it has its deepest sympathies with the family.
“As the court has requested, together with the family we will prepare the end of the treatment. We want to provide the best possible support to everyone in this difficult time,” says the hospital in a press release.
