Mountain Child of Krakatoa erupted again since yesterday until this morning. A total of seven eruptions have occurred since yesterday with a height of the ash column reaching 500 meters to 2 kilometers.
This volcano in the Sunda Strait last erupted 2 weeks ago. The activity of the Anak Krakatau volcano erupted again on Tuesday (2/8) at 15.49 WIB with a burst of volcanic ash reaching 1.5 kilometers above the peak.
The last eruption occurred on Wednesday (3/8) at 01.15 WIB. The eruption caused an eruption of volcanic ash as high as 500 meters.

“There was an eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 01.15 WIB with the height of the ash column being observed ± 500 m above the peak (± 657 m above sea level),” the Geological Agency report said as quoted on Wednesday (3/3). /8/2022).
This eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 50 mm and a duration of 52 seconds. The ash plume generated from this eruption is reported to be black with thick intensity.
“A black column of ash was observed with thick intensity towards the southwest. This eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 50 mm and a duration of 52 seconds,” he wrote.
The status of Mount Anak Krakatau is still at level III or Standby. People are prohibited from approaching the mountain with a radius of 5 kilometers from the crater.
