For several hours, they searched for a 38-year-old man who fell into a chasm in the Vrachan Balkan. The incident happened in the Nevestina Gap area this afternoon.
Two maintenance workers at the tourist bungalows went for a walk when one of them slipped and fell into the abyss, more than 80 meters deep.
The local rescuers could not perform a rock rescue operation and therefore a team of cavers had to be called. The area is difficult to access and is currently cordoned off.
After several hours of trying to reach the man, it turned out that he had died.
