Butter is a very common ingredient in food preparation. But for baking, for example, it needs to be soft enough. How to do it if you forget to take it out of the fridge in time, or if you need to bake it quickly?
How to achieve the right consistency of butter?
Actress Jennifer Garner, known for example from the movie “Thirty Nights”, showed her fans the way she does it. In the morning, she decided to prepare her children’s favorite chocolate bread. But softened butter is added to it, and she only had solid butter in the fridge. The trick is quite simple. Simply grate the butter on a grater. Thanks to this, it gets exactly the consistency needed for baking. Of course, there are other ways to ensure perfect consistency. What are they like?
Make cubes out of the butter
Another way to ensure soft butter is to cut it with a heated knife. Soak a sharp knife in hot water and make a two-centimeter cut with it. If you use hot water before each cut and cut the butter into cubes in this way, they will soften very quickly.
Try a warm bowl
Prepare a metal or ceramic bowl and pour hot water into it. As soon as it is heated, pour out the water. Put the butter without the wrapper on a plate and tap it with a heated bowl. It should enable within 10 minutes.
Try foreign butter
There is a type of butter where you don’t have to deal with this at all. These are butters of foreign producers, which are of high quality and no enhancing substances are used in their production. These are mainly butters from Belgium and Poland. We do not use this technology, you will find classic butter almost always solid.
Beware of too soft butter
The popular method of heating butter in the microwave is not a very happy method. It’s easy for the butter to spread more than needed, and this can make baking significantly more difficult. You should be especially careful when baking Christmas cookies, the dough may not turn out as expected. It is better to prefer other methods.
