In the first half of the final match of the 1st round of the NB II, the visitors Szeged took the lead with a header from Temesvár, but in the second half, Futács doubled the lead for MTK and won the match 2–1. We show the evaluation of the head coach of Szeged, Aleksandar Sztevanovics, after the meeting, and we also talked to their player, Benc Bíró, who used to play football in MTK.
Judge Bence according to him, they started the match well and took the lead.
“We tried to stay organized for the second half as well, but unfortunately we had a wobble from the sixtieth minute, five or ten minutes, when we scored two quick goals, so the match turned around. Unfortunately, after that I felt that we couldn’t convert to equalize.”
In our video, he talks about what it was like to start the season against his former team, MTK, talks about fitting in, but also talks about his time in the Portuguese Legion.
Aleksandar Sztevanovich head coach knew exactly that they were going to play against a good team.
“We knew we had a chance if we defended aggressively and compactly. The guys did this in full in the first half, and we tried to create danger with counterattacks, as well as from fixed situations, our goal was also scored after one of these. We tried to play this way in the second half as well, but the team’s game fell apart a bit, although we still had the opportunity to double our advantage. He missed and that turned out to be a key moment.”
